There is no gospel fact for this ancient question is there?

I’m faced with this question as my Macbook Pro goes in for surgery after a fried motherboard. It’s only 18 months young and still has a lot of work to do.

On one hand I never turned it off when I had it, just put it to sleep each night; and I would restart once a week to clear the memory and ultimately make it faster. But turning it off every night I never inconvenienced myself doing. I’ve always been under the impression that if we keep it on then it’s better because it keeps all the components at the perfect temperature.

ALTHOUGH, this is my second computer who’s motherboard has died. I had a PC for 2 years, which I didn’t turn off frequently, and then one mysterious holiday I turned it off for an extended time and then it wouldn’t turn back on. Yep…Motherboard!

So now I have a new 24” iMac, what should I do? I know what I’ve done – Apple Care!
